As part of its objective to promote young artists of Indian origin, the Mehli Mehta Music Foundation is happy to present an exceptional young pianist, Mishka Rushdie Momen in a recital at the Experimental Theatre, NCPA on Friday April 2, 2010 at 6.30 pm.
Mishka is the youngest pupil ever to have been admitted to the Purcell School at the age of six. At the age of 13 she was unanimously selected by the jury as the First Prize winner of the Leschetizky Association’s Gifted Young Pianists Concerto Competition held in New York. Following this she appeared at Merkin Hall, New York City as soloist with the Camerata New York Orchestra. When she was 15 years old she had achieved straight ‘A’s in her A Level examinations and was offered full four years scholarships at all the leading London Conservatoires: She is currently a third year scholar at the Guildhall School of Music and studies externally with the excellent concert pianist Imogen Cooper as her only pupil.
Since her debut solo recital when she was ten, Mishka has performed most of the prestigious venues in London and also across UK and Europe. She is regularly invited to give recitals hosted by the Beethoven Piano Society of Europe and The Chopin Society UK. She has been selected by the Chopin Society UK as their Young Artiste to give a solo recital in their prestigious bicentennial celebrations in London later this year.
